Regional Programmes Officer

Kenya

Nothing beats working in an organisation whose values you intimately identify with, particularly on conserving natural resources not only for the benefits they provide to nature, but also to the people who lives are intricately connected with them.

As the Regional Programmes Officer, I find great satisfaction when I interact with diverse individuals to develop strategies that address the pressing conservation challenges in Eastern Africa.

With more than 12 years in the Environmental and Conservation sector in the region, I have been instrumental in the design and implementation of holistic projects with specific interests in water resources management, ecosystem restoration, community engagement, and environmental and social safeguards such as impact assessments and audits. Prior to joining Wetlands International, I worked with Community Action for Nature Conservation and the East African Wild Life Society where I led the establishment and facilitation of multiple stakeholder partnerships for wetlands resilience.

I hold a graduate degree in Environment Development and Policy from the University of Sussex in the UK and a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Management and Community Development from Kenyatta University in Kenya.

When I am not serving in the environmental sector, I enjoy mastering my interior design skills.
